Our latest race designed system is made entirely from Stainless Steel. It is fully spring mounted in sections for quick installation and removal. The system offers full access to the oil filter, oil drain plug and the center stand is retained, no compromises with this new purge welded exhaust!! The complete system is super light, with megaphone muffler, packed for shipping, it weighs 13lb!!

RRR/Hindle’s unique 4-2-1 design allows for maximum horsepower and maximum torque. This Hindle system was dyno tested and produced 54 hp and 35 ft/lbs torque at the back wheel. The dyno run was carried out at RRR/Hindles with the latest software available from Dynojet. The test was on my stock 1979 CB650 engine which I have shoehorned into a CB550 frame! I’ve fitted the motor with pods and re-jetted to suit. This engine has not been rebuilt but is still quite healthy despite the years. When new, as tested by Cycle World, the CB650 produced 49 hp at the back wheel on a Dynojet dynamometer. Our RRR/Hindle exhaust has gained 5hp over stock and created a very flat torque curve that produces 35ft/lbs torque over a 5000 rpm spread. Another interesting note is that the exhaust system would allow the engine to rev to 11,000 rpm before peak power began to fade. Peak power was recorded at 9,500rpm.

Our Stainless Steel design makes for a super light, strong and extremely durable exhaust system which will not rust. The RRR/Hindle Vintage Racing Exhaust System can be ordered as a complete system with a Stainless Steel Megaphone Muffler for $879.95 or can be ordered as Headers Only ($709.95). The Stainless Steel Megaphone Mufflers come in two lengths, 12 inch or 16 inch,  and are supplied with either a “Classic” tip (pictured on bike) or a “reverse cone slash cut Megaphone” tip (end cap). The Stainless Steel Megaphone Muffler has a straight through perforated baffle core design, wrapped with SS wool and ceramic which lets the engine breathe yet is “relatively” quiet when trolling about town. When the throttle is opened, the system produces a rich mellow sound as it screams toward redline, truly fantastic! The 16 inch Megaphone is a little quieter than the 12 inch Megaphone. The 12 inch is…a…robust in volume!! We also offer a noise suppressor which cuts an additional 4-5db of sound. NOTE – to help decide on muffler length and tip (end cap), look at my separate section “RRR/Hindle Megaphone Mufflers” on page 2 of exhaust systems.

4 reviews for Honda CB650 RRR/Hindle Stainless Steel Exhaust Fits All (1979-82) Plus 1982 650SC Nighthawk

I own a 1979 CB650, and had been searching for a high quality exhaust system for a long time. It seemed that there was only one brand on the market, used for most CB650 builds, and the reviews did not seem promising. It took some time to come across RRR, but I did some research on their product, and found nothing but rave reviews. I, then contacted Kemp at RRR over email with some questions. Almost immediately he responded (within the hour, NOT DAYS!!!), and not long after I had received my black ceramic coated system with the 12″ classic tip muffler. To sum it up; the product is of the highest quality (truly a work-of-art), the customer service was of the best I have ever experienced, and the shipping took a day at most. Good job RRR, you deserve ten stars!

I bought this after seeing I had a choice between basically two exhausts for my 1980 CB650c, either a MAC 4-1 or this one. Very pleased to have gone with this. High quality materials, welds and hardware, and the fit is top notch. Everything goes together easily and securely. Super light too! The entire unit probably weighs about the same as one side of the stock 4-4 system. I’d highly recommend this to anyone looking for a clean exhaust for these uncommon (relative to 550s and 750s) bikes.

I won the 2020 and 2021 AHRMA Vintage Superbike Middleweight championship with this pipe. Can’t recommend it highly enough.

Been meaning to leave this review for awhile.

Within North America, if you’re a 79-82 CB650 owner, this is as good as an exhaust system you’re gonna find for these bikes at this point.
I installed this on my 81 CB650 Standard along with a Sigma Six jet kit. My mechanic was amazed at the fitment out of the box. He said it fit the bike like a glove and had no trouble with the installation whatsoever.

I went with the longer 16 inch muffler and the bike is still very loud, but it is a refined exhaust note that really just screams down the road. It makes the bike sound just vicious, and it is such a joy to grab a fist full of throttle and hear it howl when I’m hooning in my local countryside.

Stop waiting if you own a 79-82 CB650 and pick this one up.

Aside from the great exhaust note, the subtle aggressiveness the exhaust adds to the look of the bike also is great.

Can confirm that this system allows the side and full-body kickstands to operate without any issue.
